During the 2023-2024 academic year, I served as co-advisor for the Human Values Forum in the Princeton University Center for Human Values.
Through the Outreach Program in the Philosophy Department and the Parr Center for Ethics at UNC, I was involved in numerous public-facing philosophical programs.
Highlights include:
Facilitating and participating in weekly or biweekly philosophical discussion groups at several retirement communities near Chapel Hill.
Working with Geoff Sayre-McCord and Michael Vazquez as the Parr Center’s Juvenile Justice Fellow to bring philosophy into classrooms in NC’s Juvenile Justice educational programs. We led monthly virtual professional development sessions for teachers to equip them with the skills to incorporate philosophical methods and content into their teaching, culminating in an intensive day-long workshop on UNC’s campus.
Serving as a judge and case-writer for the NJ and NC High School Ethics Bowls and the National High School Ethics Bowl.
Putting on a public event on ancient Stoic ethical theory and practices at the Durham County Library as an E. Maynard Adams Fellow for the Public Humanities through Carolina Public Humanities.
Lecturing on Stoicism at the Durham County Library.
